Katie & Chris - Engaged

I met Katie and Chris through a friend, so it was no surprise to find that I love em!  They are the kind of couple that keeps it real and is not afraid to admit they argue over little things and they've accepted that life, and especially relationships, aren't perfect all the time, but they have fun together, laugh a lot...plus they look so darn cute together!

Tara & Clint

It was such a pleasure to meet Tara and Clint for their couples session a couple of weeks ago.  They've been married for a few years now and like many couples hadn't had portraits done since their wedding ...(sorry guys, I can't remember how long you've been married).  Anyway, I loved working with them, because they are so easy-going and sort of quiet like me!

Bonnie & Anton - Married

This was the last wedding of the season for us and probably the most fun couple we've ever worked with.  Bonnie and Anton decided to do their portraits before the ceremony, so the first half of the day was spent hanging out and having fun.  Then we headed for Dalmeny for the ceremony and reception.  Check it out:

I love this shot!  Bonnnie and Anton look like rockstars!  

  

  

Honestly, this was not an ideal place to sit in your wedding attire, but these guys were up for anything.  

  

  

  

  

  

The guys walked over to 7-11 to grab a snack and a tide pen to try to remove the blood from Bonnie's gown...yes blood...she cut her finger climbing up on a ledge.   In case you're wondering...it did work quite well.

...and besides, it was worth it!  

  

  

  

  

  

The ceremony was very short and sweet-  

  

  

  

...and I thought we were having fun before the ceremony!  Actually there's a bit of a funny twist to this story...I guess when these guys were kids, Taryn punched Anton (he was a lot smaller then)  I'm not sure of the details and what happened in between, but they've been friends since.

We are so happy to have met you, Bonnie and Anton and we look forward to hanging out again some time.  Congrats! 

Someday..

Today, I want to share with you a cute photo.  Last week I was shooting Katie and Chris's engagement session (coming soon!)  and they wanted a couple of shots indoors, so we stopped back at the studio, where Scott and Sammy were waiting .   Well any of you who've already met Sam, know how outgoing and friendly she is, so it was no surprise that she was all over Katie and Chris and they were happy to play along.  In the middle of all this, we look up and Sammy is peeking over the railing with my old pentax, pretending to take pictures, just like Mommy. 

 

I always feel guilty about the amount of time I spend on work, and it's frustrating to Sammy to have to wait, but it amazes me to find that besides all that, she still thinks what I do is just great.

I totally forgot to blog these two fall engagement sessions that I'd love to share with you all..

Jennifer & Eric

There's something about these guys as a couple that's just dreamy.  When they look at eachother you can see how head over heels in love they are:

Lissa & Andrew

...another awesome couple!  These two both have such a great sense of humor and they totally feed off eachothers silliness.  It was so much fun hanging out and walking around downtown.  Also, note the great sense of style:

Sweetest Boys Ever

When Cheryl told me she had 2 boys, I thought I was in for some attitude, but I was way off!  These were the nicest boys I've ever worked with. 

 

  

  

   

It was unusually cold that day, so I give them credit for being such troopers!  The session did get cut a little short, but I could have hung out with these guys for hours.

Carlee and Matt Engaged

Now, this had to be the most adventurous engagement session I've done yet; it was very dark, cold and rainy, but the biggest challenge was the wind.  My umbrella snapped in pieces as soon as I set foot outside of our car, but thankfully, I was able to share with Carlee and Matt.  So, we wandered around downtown, with an umbrella and one flash...it was actually pretty fun!

...besides, it's best we toughen up now - their wedding is in January!

Leanne & Mark - Married

2008 has been quite a year for amazing weddings and Leanne & Mark's was no exception.  They are such a beautiful couple...here are some favorites:

This was one of those ceremonies where I had to keep a bit of a distance to respect the church's rules, but I really don't mind, because sometimes it works out better that way anyhow.
