Triple Flip's Saskatoon store turned 1 and last week, and I was asked back for another Official Flip Girl Photoshoot. Again, it was totally fun and oh so exciting for the girls who won a chance to show off their best moves!
A sneak peak:

Last week we had the privelege of attending Showcase 2009 at Sammy's school.
Upon arriving there was a variety of snacks put out for parents, provided by D'reen's Catering. Parents are constantly offering up their skills and time to the school, which is really nice.
The kids are allowed and encouraged to help eachother out, just as grownups would on a daily basis.
Sammy showed off her skills with the moveable alphabet, choosing an object and then building the word next to it with these letters. I thought she did a great job!
...and I think she was pretty proud of herself too!
It was really neat to take a stroll through the elementary classes and see the unique ways that they learn different concepts, and how confident they appeared in their understanding of them.
Years ago, I had seen an ad in one of those leisure booklets that you get in the mail for actually a couple of different Montessori schools. Not knowing what this was about, and having a toddler that would be ready for preschool/school soon, I checked into it right away. As soon as I started reading about Maria Montessori's methods and the philosophy behind these schools, I knew in my heart this is where I wanted my child to be.
Skip ahead a few years later - we had decided to wait until Kindergarten to enroll Sammy, and anyway to make a long story short, it was one of the best decisions we have ever made. Maria Montessori School feels like a second home for Sammy and it is truly amazing to watch her grow as a person and to see her confidence soar as she masters new skills.
If you're child is approaching preschool age, I urge you to consider Maria Montessori as an option. For more information:

Carlee and Matt's January wedding had a bit of an old hollywood glam flavor, which I, of course, loved! Let me show you how beautifully it turned out:
The ceremony was at St. James Anglican on Dufferin
Carlee arrived at the church, and I could tell it was going to be an emotional ceremony..
Matt, looking sharp and so obviously excited to see his bride..
Meet Mr. and Mrs. Brattan!
So, after the ceremony we shot a few portraits at the church:
Then we stopped at the Hilton for some family portraits in the ball room. We also managed to get some beautiful shots of the couple as well..
I love this one!
beautifully decorated..
After that, we headed to the University area for the rest of the "formals"
It was pretty chilly!
After staying outside as long as everyone could handle, we decided to try some indoors..
and a couple more before the reception starts..
another favorite..
Carlee had a martini bar set up for their guests...love it!
Thanks Carlee and Matt for everything...we think you guys make a perfect couple and wish you all the best!

New Year's Eve gave us a big snowstorm in 2008, but I think it just made Jodi and Pierre's wedding that much more charming. As it turns out, we truly had a blast running around in the snow!
Jodi was one of those brides that really was glowing all day from start to finish..
So pretty!
All the lovely ladies..
I thought the guys really looked great....
..and of course Pierre looking super handsome!
Waiting at the church..
I love Knox United...such a beautiful church.
We hopped back over to the Bessborough for a few quick portraits..
..then onto the party bus we go!
Basically what we did was drive around and when we found a cool spot, just stepped out for a couple of minutes...it honestly wasn't that cold! (I think Jodi might have something to say about that though, but she was a trooper and never once complained!)
Sooo romantic...
The guys are warming up Jodi's toes..
See what I mean...these guys really had fun!
..and one final shot of the bridal party wraps the night up for us!
Jodi and Pierre, we love that you two make such a fun couple..and we love that this was the wedding we got to shoot on New Years Eve!

Sparkling glitter, cool shades of blue and silver, and sweet gingerbread favors - Lissa and Andrew's Christmas wedding was so pretty!
The event took place 5 days before Christmas at the Delta Bessborough, here in Saskatoon.
Lissa's Dad watches as her Mom helps with final touches..
The music was absolutely perfect and really made it feel like Christmas.
Lissa teared up in the middle of her vows, but she made it through..
Oh, and I forgot to mention-poor Lissa had slipped and broke her arm a few days before the wedding, but she handled it well and anyway, it was an excuse to add more bling:
It wouldn't be Christmas without extreme freezing temperatures! ...so naturally we headed to the U of S for the formals.
You guys look amazing!
..and one more quick stop at Starbucks:
A super dramatic shot at the Bess
The ballroom was perfect..
..and I loved every detail!
These gingerbread cookies were soooo good! I forgot to ask, but when I find out who made them I will let you know!
Let's get this party started!!
How neat...they actually were able to find a real Haggis:
The desserts....wow, I've never seen so many in one spot ever! Apparently, Lissa's Mom loves to bake; she made me take home a heaping plate of these goodies...but thank you!! They were delicious, and we were happy to share them with Sammy.
The guests must have been feeling pretty festive, because that dance floor was never empty and everyone looked like they were having so much fun!
I can't say enough thanks, Lissa and Andrew, for everything. We had such a great time and you and your family really made us feel very welcome. We wish you a lifetime of happiness together!
Congratulations!
